Installed the crossovers that came with the Polk speakers. I thought it was ok to use the original factory wiring but it seems like I get horrible distortion (under high volume) on the tweeters. After installing the crossovers, it sounded a hell of a lot better. The input (to the crossover) is simply the pair of wires that powered the midrange speaker. After doing some research, I learned that those wires carry the full signal. The wires to the factory tweeters were from capacitors (?)
I got lazy and decided to tuck the crossover away in the door panel's pocket. I didn't feel like bolting it onto the inside of the door panel as there was very little space to work with. Plus, the crossover fits perfectly in the panel pocket. Check the pics2 page for images

Bought 2001 SE rims + tires (Firestone Firehawk GTA 02) from fellow Altimas.net member, "Zamo". Thanks Oscar, they look tight as hell! Huge improvement over the GLE alloys.

Removed all illuminating bulbs from behind the gauge cluster except for the one illuminating the mileage counter. Before I did this, those bulbs would shine through the 'holes' on the new gauges at night. Because the gauges are independently powered (when the headlights are turned on), I don't need those illuminating bulbs behind the gauge cluster anymore. :)
Uploaded a pic of the indiglow switch (installed above the dimmer switch)

Installed '98-'99 Nissan Maxima indiglow gauges. Since no one makes indiglow gauges for '00-'01 Altimas, the '98-'99 Maximas were the closest fit. Unfortunately, there are holes on the gauges where they shouldn't be; the layout of the holes (where screws and needles are located) are slightly different on the Altima. No big deal. The calibration of the temperature needle is way off because that needle was probably the most difficult to calibrate. I will probably have to remove the needle again and find a spot to insert the needle so that it calibrates properly. Right now, the needle rests (cold) way below the cold line (practically pointing straight down), and when the engine is warm, the needle rises all the way to the hot level. See the problem here? When it's cold, it's too cold and when it's warm, it's too hot! This will hopefully be fixed soon.
Pictures of the indiglow gauges are up!

Replaced stock headlight bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. These bulbs are noticeably whiter and brighter! Thanks goodness my Altima requires one bulb for high beams and low beams

Installed resonator due to noise problems. There was also a rattling noise because the pipes weren't too stable. That's all been fixed.
New pics are up. There are two pics of the Magnaflow muffler

My father and I spent a good 9.5 hours today putting the damn Stillen header on. Originally, we were also gonna replace the crank pulley with the UR pulley, but we didn't have the right pulley puller. The guys at AutoZone gave me a regular "Harmonic Balancer Puller". So, hopefully they'll get me the right one when I go back there to return the puller. The heat shield was bastardly to take off. I think it took us 3 hours JUST to get it off! We had to remove the alternator (e.g. move it out of the way), the radiator fans and the radiator tube just to take off the heat shield. From there on, it wasn't too hard. My "Service Engine Soon" light is on now, hopefully after hearing some rumors of it happening, it will go away in 2 weeks. Who knows? The performance is great though! It pulls real hard when the RPMs are in the middle-high range. Awesome! All I need now is my pulley installed and a custom cat.

I took a day off from work to go have my tints done at Fields Corner Auto Glass in Dorchester, MA. What a bunch of freaks over there (made me wait 3.5 hours in a small room with no AC while it was 96 degrees outside), but they did a good job. The tints are 20%, nice and dark! See the pic of the Altima above? It's about as dark as that...almost. Anyway, it's real ghetto now that I have my spoiler installed as well. No more family car look! It still feels like a family car though. I need the header and pulley installed...and fast!

Bought a painted stock fiberglass spoiler off eBay and installed it today. The paint is somewhat lighter than the paint on my car, but that's cool. It's close enough. We disabled the light from the middle brake light (above the back seat) and ran that wire to the spoiler LED brake light. Looks much better. The family car look is almost gone!

Installed Place Racing Cold Air Intake. I should've read the instructions before I started the job, but luckily, we had a reciprocating saw to enlarge the hole for the intake pipe. All in all, it was a good first project to my Altima. Before the night was over, I said to myself, "This is only the beginning..."
Pictures are up! These photos are of the stock setup under the hood and does not include the CAI that was installed. Those pictures will be up by tonight or tomorrow. A friend recommended to me to take before and after photos, so I did.

Currently, this page is under heavy construction. I will definitely have pictures of my current ride, and then more pictures
of my ride with the mods installed. Next spring, I hope to have new 17" rims, a catback exhaust, and a matching spoiler.
For now, I am expecting a Place Racing Cold Air Intake, Stillen Header, Unorthodox Underdrive Racing Pulley, and NGK Spark Plug
wires. I'm trying to make the most of my ride!
So please check back for updates!
